The time had come to get rid of Clover's beloved binky for good. We told her the Binky Fairy was coming to take them away to all the new babies who needed them, but would leave her a special surprise in return. We gathered them all up and put them in a basket before bed so the fairy could find them. Clover began to get a little emotional over this, as it's something she's loved since the day she was born. It was sad to watch and almost brought tears to my own eyes watching her morn this beloved friend. She asked to keep one in her mouth while she feel asleep for the the last time and I agreed. Morning came and the binkies were gone, but Clover's special surprise awaited her!
All in all it's going well. She knows they aren't coming back, but still asks for them at nap time or bed time occasionally, so we remind her where they went. One day we were riding in the car and she asked for a Band Aid for her foot. I told her we didn't have any and she asked, "did the Binky Fairy take them?"

I know she doesn't look like it, but I swear she was happy! She was just a little confused because I don't think she quite knew how this whole things was going play out.
